The AI-based matching occurs in tandem with a manual search review, helping to expedite decisions, reduce examination costs, and better enable time-critical matching decisions. The IMA provides the examiner with a ranking of the most probable candidate matches using technology that differs from that used by the matching vendor system. While AI-based matching occurs behind the scenes, manual examination of the candidates’ biometrics goes uninterrupted. A notification will alert the examiner when the IMA results are ready for review.
