Europe Sales Manager

Job Description:

The Europe Sales Manager at Athena Sciences will serve as the primary business development leader across all European markets. This high-impact role requires a proactive sales professional with deep knowledge of the biometrics and national security landscape within the EU and NATO-aligned nations. The Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with law enforcement, border control, defense agencies, and government integrators. This includes navigating complex procurement frameworks, building strong relationships with regional partners, and aligning Athena’s technical solutions with the unique mission requirements of each client. The role also demands cross-functional collaboration with engineering, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment on contract delivery, product demos, and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate must be a persuasive communicator capable of leading strategic negotiations and closing multi-million dollar contracts. You will represent Athena at high-level conferences, industry briefings, and technical workshops throughout Europe. This position requires cultural fluency, multilingual communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively across government, military, and private sector domains.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise or government technology sales, with at least 5 years in the EU public sector.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience selling biometric technologies, identity platforms, or law enforcement systems.
  • Fluency in English and at least two additional European languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish, Italian).
  • Deep understanding of EU procurement frameworks, NATO contracting standards, and security certification procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to win and manage long-cycle government sales, ideally across multiple countries.
  • Proven track record exceeding annual sales targets of $5M+ in technology or services.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills, with experience briefing senior government officials.
  • Willingness to travel 40–60% throughout the EU and occasionally to the U.S. for internal coordination.
  • Must provide three professional references including a previous supervisor.
