Athena Joins the Center for Identification Technology Research

Fairmont, WV – Athena has joined the Center for Identification Technology Research (CITeR). CITeR is the only National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) focusing on serving its affiliates in the rapidly growing areas of identity science and biometric recognition through an interdisciplinary group of faculty, researchers, and students.

According to Athena CEO, Dan McCaugherty, “We are looking forward to participating in CITeR as an industry partner and contributing funding for research in this field. We believe that our CITeR membership will enhance our knowledge of state of the art biometric research, increase our understanding of the challenges faced by industry and the government, and better position Athena to develop technology, products, and best-value solutions for our clients.”

Athena CEO Dan McCaugherty stands with Dr. Matthew Valenti of WVU, Kody West of the CITeR Affiliate Advisory Board, and Dr. Nasser Nasrabadi of WVU.
