VA-1087 Biometrics System Analyst/Scrum Master

Education/Experience:  BS and 5+ yrs experience

Athena Sciences Corporation seeks a biometric software engineer to join a team selected to work for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM).

Biometrics System Analyst required experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years experience with the following: 
    • Large scale information technology and database systems comprised of a multi-tier architecture
    • Integration of highly complex commercial software products and custom code
    • C++
    • JAVA
    • Python
    • Ruby
    • C#
    • GO
    • PL/SQL
    • Fluent in spoken and written English language
  • US Citizen with active DHS EOD (Public Trust) clearance, or ability to obtain

Biometrics System Analyst desired experience (one or more of the following):

  • Agile Certifications such as SCRUM, Kanban, and SAFe
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps methods
  • Working knowledge of automated biometric identification systems (ABIS)
  • Knowledge of DHS OBIM system engineering life cycle (SELC)

Responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Analyze, design, and implement solutions for change requests
  • Assess the suitability of change requests in terms of their intended outcomes and liaise with OBIM internal stakeholders to achieve these outcomes
  • Perform impact assessments to include developing cost analysis, design considerations, testing, security, requirements, and implementation timelines for all requested change requests, and presenting as needed to review boards
  • Perform activities and prepare artifacts to support change management tasks for contractor releases
